Klymit Insulated Double V Inflatable Sleeping Pad Red 2020 3‑Inch

Description

Product Overview

The Klymit Insulated Double V sleeping pad is engineered to bring the comfort of a home mattress to the backcountry, offering a unique combination of insulation, durability, and packability that sets it apart from conventional air beds. Constructed from 75D polyester fabric, the exterior shell resists abrasion, moisture, and the inevitable wear of rugged terrain while remaining exceptionally lightweight at just 1.57 kilograms. Inside, the Double V chamber system creates two distinct air pockets that conform to the shape of each sleeper, reducing air movement and providing a stable, supportive surface that minimizes pressure points for side, back, and stomach sleepers alike. The pad measures 73 x 47 x 3 inches when inflated, delivering a generous 3‑inch thickness that translates into an impressive R‑value of 4.4, ensuring warmth even on chilly nights. Synthetic Klymalite insulation fills the chambers, offering a superior warmth‑to‑weight ratio that keeps you cozy without adding bulk. The included stuff sack compresses the pad to a compact 12 x 7 inch package, making it an ideal companion for backpackers, hikers, and campers who value both performance and space efficiency.

Usage

Designed for versatility, the Double V pad excels in a wide range of outdoor scenarios, from weekend camping trips in temperate forests to multi‑day treks across alpine environments where temperature swings demand reliable insulation. Its lightweight construction means it can be carried alongside other essential gear without compromising load distribution, while the quick‑inflate design—requiring just ten pumps from the included stuff sack—allows you to set up camp swiftly, even after a long day on the trail. Whether you are setting up a base camp in a valley, a bivouac on a ridge, or a hammock suspension system under a canopy of trees, the pad’s low‑profile shape fits comfortably under most tents and hammocks, providing a stable platform that resists rolling and shifting. The pad also serves as an excellent ground barrier for festival-goers, hunters, or anyone needing a clean, insulated surface in environments where the ground may be damp, uneven, or littered with debris.

For cold‑weather enthusiasts, the Double V’s synthetic insulation retains heat efficiently, allowing you to maintain a comfortable body temperature without the need for additional sleeping bags in moderate conditions. In warmer climates, the breathable polyester fabric promotes airflow, preventing overheating while still offering a cushioned surface that reduces fatigue after a day of hiking. The pad’s 300‑pound weight capacity ensures it can comfortably support two adult users, making it a practical choice for couples or small groups sharing a single sleeping surface. Its universal size—one size fits most—eliminates the guesswork of selecting the right dimensions, and the included patch kit provides peace of mind for emergency repairs, extending the pad’s service life even after accidental punctures.

Why Choose Us

Klymit’s reputation for innovative outdoor gear is built on a foundation of rigorous testing, user‑centered design, and a commitment to quality that is reflected in every stitch of the Insulated Double V sleeping pad. The proprietary Double V chamber architecture was developed after extensive field research to maximize comfort for two sleepers while minimizing air movement, a common source of heat loss in traditional inflatable mats. This design not only enhances thermal performance but also distributes weight evenly, reducing the likelihood of sagging or uneven surfaces that can disrupt sleep. The pad’s limited‑lifetime warranty underscores Klymit’s confidence in its durability, offering customers a safety net that protects their investment and reinforces the brand’s dedication to long‑term reliability.

Beyond the technical specifications, Klymit prioritizes sustainability by selecting materials that balance performance with environmental responsibility. The 75D polyester fabric is sourced from recycled fibers where possible, and the synthetic insulation is engineered to provide high loft without relying on animal‑based down, aligning with eco‑friendly values increasingly important to outdoor enthusiasts. Additionally, the compact packaging reduces shipping volume, decreasing the carbon footprint associated with distribution. Klymit’s customer support team is trained to assist with product inquiries, inflation tips, and repair guidance, ensuring that users receive comprehensive assistance throughout the product’s lifecycle.

Finally, the pad’s thoughtful accessories—such as the dedicated stuff sack, repair patch, and clear inflation instructions—demonstrate Klymit’s attention to detail and desire to make the outdoor experience as seamless as possible. By choosing the Insulated Double V, you are investing in a product that combines cutting‑edge engineering, practical functionality, and a brand legacy trusted by thousands of adventurers worldwide.

FAQ

How long does it take to inflate the pad?

Using the included stuff sack, the pad typically inflates with ten firm pumps. Most users report full inflation in under two minutes, making it quick enough for evening set‑up after a day of hiking.

Can the pad be used in sub‑zero temperatures?

Yes. The synthetic Klymalite insulation maintains its loft and thermal performance down to well below freezing, providing a comfortable sleeping surface even in cold‑weather conditions when paired with an appropriate sleeping bag.

Is the pad compatible with hammock camping?

Absolutely. Its low‑profile design and flexible construction allow it to fit comfortably under most hammocks, offering a stable, insulated base that prevents sagging and improves overall comfort.

What is the recommended method for repairing a puncture?

Klymit includes a patch kit with the pad. Clean the punctured area, apply the adhesive patch according to the instructions, and allow it to cure for a few minutes. The repair restores air retention and extends the pad’s lifespan.

How does the pad’s weight capacity compare to other inflatable mats?

With a 300‑pound capacity, the Double V comfortably supports two adult users, which is higher than many single‑person inflatable mats on the market. This makes it an excellent choice for couples or small groups sharing a sleeping surface.
